Clinical professor Philip Tedeschi will the featured speaker at the Dr. Max Pickerill Lecture Series hosted by 麻豆原创 on Tuesday, Oct. 17. The presentation begins at 7 p.m. in Frahm Theatre on the CCC campus.
Tedeschi is the director at the University of Denver鈥檚 Institute for Human-Animal Connection, a center for the study of the interrelationship and health of people, animals and the environment. He has studied and teaches about the intricate relationship between people, domestic and wild animals and the natural world.
Research shows that the human connection with animals offers relational experiences that inform our social, emotional, cognitive, physical, spiritual and psychological wellbeing. With special guest Samara (Tedeschi鈥檚 black lab), the Oct. 17 lecture explores how respecting and taking care of animals offers unique and fulfilling opportunities for caring for ourselves. Ideas will be shared on how to rethink, improve and deepen relationships, and understanding each individual鈥檚 part of a larger community for all life.
